Job Title: Senior Associate, Trading Systems Support
Estimated Salary: $110-140k base + bonus
Work Model: hybrid model, based in NYC (must relocate if not local)
Summary: A successful investment management firm focused on real assets and alternative income is seeking a Trading Systems Support Engineer to join their Information Technology Department and work on L1/L2 type initiatives. Specifically expected to support their Order Management System (OMS) and work closely with the development department to support enterprise solutions.
Qualifications:
- Strong Understanding of Order Management Systems (Charles River, Eze Castle, Flex Trade, etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree in an Information Technology or related field
- Experience with SQL Server (writing queries, reading stored procedures, etc.)
- Experience creating and monitoring scheduled jobs
- Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and provide resolutions
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives
- Strong listening, analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills
- Recent experience at an Asset Management Firm, Hedge Fund, or Trading System Vendor
- Knowledge of publicly traded asset classes (equity, fixed income, derivatives, etc.)
- Knowledge of the portfolio management process (positions, weights, benchmarks, etc.)
- Knowledge of the trade and allocation lifecycle
Beneficial:
- Understanding of FIX protocol
- Experience with Alternative Trading Systems (TradeWeb, MarketAxess, Liquidnet, etc.)
- Experience with CTM
- Scripting experience (Power Shell, etc.)
- Knowledge of source control tools (GIT, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Maintain operational excellence by keeping environment secure and up to date
- Provide application support to the firm's Order Management System (OMS)
- Collaborate with the OMS vendor
- Work closely with business users on application requests and issues
- Develop and execute test plans to verify solutions
- Prioritize issue resolution based on business risk
- Ensure deadlines are met
- Identify and advocate improvements and efficiencies that can be made to the OMS
- Train new hires on best practices within the OMS
