Job Title: Associate, Portfolio Support Group - Private Equity
Company Overview: Our client is a distinguished firm in the alternative investment management sector, specializing in Private Equity and Private Debt for North American middle market enterprises. Established in 1999, they have raised over $21 billion and completed more than 1,400 transactions.
Position Summary: The Associate will join the Portfolio Support Group within the Private Equity division, reporting to the Director, Portfolio Support. This role involves collaborating closely with deal teams, portfolio company management, and external consultants to drive operational improvements and maximize portfolio value.
Responsibilities:
Cross-Portfolio:
- Support Portfolio Support sub-teams throughout the deal lifecycle.
- Manage projects and perform analytics across Portfolio Support, investment teams, industry groups, consultants, and portfolio executives.
- Prepare presentations for key meetings with portfolio executives, management, and stakeholders.
- Foster function-based networks by collaborating across Portfolio Support and investment teams.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track portfolio company performance, providing actionable insights.
Internal:
- Assess and streamline process workflows to optimize efficiency and accuracy, leveraging automation where feasible.
- Maintain and enhance data quality and control from portfolio sources and internal systems for analytics.
- Utilize Salesforce, iLevel, Thrive, and Smartsheet for analytics in Excel and Power BI.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS/BA) preferred with a strong academic record.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in a client-facing role, emphasizing analytics and financial modeling.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines in a high-quality environment.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects and achieving results in a fast-paced setting.
- Self-motivated and eager to learn, with experience in process engineering and efficiency improvements.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills suitable for a dynamic team environment.
- Preferred experience in consulting or advisory roles within private equity.
- Familiarity with data handling, Power BI, and similar tools advantageous.
Additional Competencies:
- Advanced Excel skills including complex formulas and macros.
- Proficient in PowerPoint for effective presentation creation and communication.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Location: Boston, MA. On-site presence required four days per week, as needed for business operations
