Job Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Long/Short Equity Research Analyst to join our investment team, focusing on the regional and community banking sector. Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive research on regional and community banks, including financial statement analysis, competitive positioning, and industry trends.
- Financial Modeling: Build and maintain detailed financial models to forecast earnings, cash flows, and valuation metrics for covered companies.
- Sector Coverage: Monitor and analyze economic and regulatory developments affecting the regional and community banking sector, including interest rate trends, credit quality, and capital adequacy.
- Idea Generation: Identify and evaluate potential long and short investment opportunities within the sector based on fundamental analysis.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed research reports, investment theses, and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with senior analysts and portfolio managers to discuss research findings, develop investment strategies, and support portfolio management decisions.
- Market Monitoring: Track market developments, stock price movements, and news flow to assess the impact on portfolio holdings and investment ideas.
- Presentations: Assist in preparing presentations and pitch decks for internal investment committees and client meetings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or related fields; internships or relevant coursework will be considered.
- Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and valuation techniques.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and experience with tools such as Excel, Bloomberg, and financial databases.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
