Responsibilities:
- Manage position and inventory balances
- Execute REC transactions
- Develop relationships with external counterparties in order to build a book of business, obtain market information and capture opportunities
- Develop and maintain fundamental REC models in US markets, particularly Mid Atlantic and New England state compliance programs
- Develop routes to market for voluntary RECs
- Collaborate with origination on structured environmental transactions
- Seek opportunities for assets to produce higher value green attributes
- Stay up to date on implemented and potential regulatory policy changes at the state and federal level
- Communicate strategies and market updates to senior management
- Participate in external advocacy, industry events and networking groups
- Monitor and participate in REC auction and RFP processes
- Support the development of commercial system
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a numerate discipline (e.g. Economics, Math, Engineering, Computer Science)
- 5+ years of experience analyzing and transacting in the major US REC markets, particularly New England and Mid-Atlantic states
- Proven history of taking risk accretive positions and generating incremental trading profits in REC markets
- Experience negotiating and supporting contracting agreements
- Ability to work on a number of simultaneous projects with minimal supervision and exemplary follow-through
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills; tenacity, attention to detail and insatiable curiosity
- Strong excel skills, programming skills are a plus
