A leading international insurance company is looking to make an essential senior level hire within their Enterprise Risk Management team. This senior role will lead a team, focused on risk management effectiveness for their Primary Casualty, Excess Casualty, Financial Lines and Cyber businesses. This is very high ranking, and high exposure role working across business lines to oversee the risk management practices across all risk types and business lines, providing effective risk management knowledge and contributing to important business strategies and budget decisions for the business. Located in New York City, this is a great role for someone with a strong insurance background in casualty or a senior level enterprise risks role in a closely related function.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Overseeing the risk management practices of the Liability Lines businesses across all types of risk, including insurance, operational, market, credit, model and technology risk
- Providing risk perspective and expertise to challenge the strategies and budges of the business lines
- Establishing a strong risk management culture within all lines of businesses, ensuring a balance between profitability and risk
- Working with ERM and business colleagues on the design and methodology for catastrophe risks that are manmade - focusing on exposure concentration analysis and cyber catastrophe modeling
- Guiding aggregate and allocated economic capital calculation methodology and enhancement of uses in pricing and portfolio management
- Challenging technical pricing and reserving approaches
- Reviewing the design and implementation of risk limits and tolerances done by the Chief Underwriting Officer in accordance to the Statement of Risk Appetite
- Producing risk reporting and management information, increasing transparency in the communication of key risks within the Liability Lines businesses
What We Need From You:
- Must have 15-20 years of experience (as well as leadership experience) at a global organization/Insurance company within the Property & Casualty space
- Global insurance industry experience, especially knowledge of Casualty and Financial Lines insurance products
- Underwriting, Actuarial or relevant Risk experience is a hard requirement
- Experience using risk models, aggregation tools and data investigations
- High level understanding of capital and liquidity implications from a change in risk profile through economic, statutory and GAAP lenses
- An ability work and collaborate across business lines
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- FCAS encouraged
