A leading American Insurance Company is looking to hire a senior Enterprise Risk Management leader to lead enterprise risk efforts focused on Global Commercial Property and Private High Net Worth clients. This is a high exposure, senior role reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of their General Insurance Business within their global ERM function. In this role, you will be the point of contact within ERM for all stakeholders for Property and Private Clients lines of business.
In This Role You Will:
- Overseeing the effectiveness of risk management within North America and International Commercial Property and Private Client Group (this would mean high-net-worth homeowners, collections, auto, yacht, and excess liability) across all risk types
- This is including but not limited to insurance, operational, market, credit, model and technology risks
- Working with international Risk Officers to ensure local, in-country risk oversight and consistency of approach to risk management
- Providing a risk perspective and challenging strategies and budgets
- Ensuring proper balance between growth, profitability and risk
- Steering aggregate and allocated economic capital calculation methodology and enhancement of uses in pricing and portfolio management
- Reviewing natural catastrophe model calibrations and uses
- Producing risk reports and management information for increasing transparency and proactive management of key risks within Global Property and the private client groups.
- Reviewing the design and implementation of risk limits, tolerances and catastrophe capacity allocations in accordance with Company Risk Appetite
What We Need From You:
- At least 12 years of relevant risk experience within a global insurance organization
- Broad experience working in the global insurance industry, with specific knowledge of Commercial Property and Personal Insurance products and the associate risks
- Underwriting, actuarial, catastrophe modeling or risk management experience is required and non-negotiable
- Extensive experience using risk models, aggregation tools and data investigation, particularly for natural catastrophe and terror risks
- Understanding of capital and liquidity implications from a change in risk profile through economic, statutory and GAAP lenses
- Leadership experience - ability to recruit, develop and retain a high functioning team of individuals
