A New York-based Distressed Credit & Equity Fund is looking to add an Investment Analyst to their team. The firm invests in distressed loans and the equity of distressed companies as well as originates high yield loans. Deal sizes range up to $150M and invest across many industries including Manufacturing, Media, Energy, Healthcare, and more. This is a unique career-track role that provides candidates the opportunity to gain experience in distressed investing across both credit and equity. The Position
- Assist deal teams in sourcing and evaluation of potential investment opportunities and monitoring current portfolio investments
- Conduct fundamental analysis of distressed companies and assets, especially in non-traditional financing situations
- Engage with bankers, lawyers, and management, including CEOs of portfolio investments
- Work in lean deal teams directly with senior management, with an ability to have an outsized impact on the success of each investment and the firm overall
Desired Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated track record of excellence in academic, professional, and personal endeavors
- 2-4 years of prior experience in private equity, investment banking, and private credit required
- Proven ability to interact with third parties and management with strong verbal and written skills
- Experience with credit documentation and working knowledge of capital structures are a plus
