The Corporate Development Analyst will be responsible for:
- Participates in various aspects of assessing and executing M&A transactions
- Review of inbound opportunities for strategic fit
- Identify new acquisition targets
- Assist in the development of business cases
- Market data analysis
- Financial modeling
- Complete diligence work
- Associated presentations for investment committee
- Support the Director of Strategy & Corporate with the end-to-end execution of M&A projects
- Under the guidance of and partnership with the senior Strategy & Corporate Development team, prepare proposals for Segment Leadership, Senior Leadership and Board of Directors
Ventures Responsibilities:
- Maintain data base of financial statements, board documents for start-ups in the company's investment portfolio
- Update the Venture KPIs namely: individual venture scorecard, portfolio financial return and pipeline metrics
- Interface with the organization's businesses to facilitate and track commercial collaboration with start-ups in the portfolio
- Support with venture investment research and origination, Venture Investment Committee reviews and approvals, and investment transactions
The Corporate Development Analyst should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA is a plus
- 2-5 years experience in consulting, investment banking or equivalent corporate finance/development. Experience with M&A or strategy exposure, a plus
- Strategic mindset with experience with financial modeling and/or strategy assessment as well as project management (i.e., capital projects, budgeting/forecasting, organic growth projects, DCF analysis).
- Advanced accounting and financial modeling skills, a plus
- Excellent quantitative skill set and comfort with financial statements
- Highly skilled with Excel and PowerPoint
