The Personal Lines Property Assistant Product Manager is responsible for assisting the Product Manager in all aspects of Product Development, Pricing and Underwriting, and helping to maintain all relationships in the territories assigned. The Assistant Product Manager will work in conjunction with counterparts to insure the greatest level of consistency possible across all states and lines of business.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Assists in monitoring multi-dimensional portfolio performance metrics. Assists in analyzing Product/State results. Monitors and analyzes Competitive position.
Facilitates product review process on forms, rates, and guidelines. Compiles input from Legal, Sales, Claims and Actuarial to support the formation of product recommendations.
Assists the implementation of new states and lines of business as needed to support corporate goals.
Assists in the implementation and review of catastrophe exposure management programs and monitor and manage geographic spread of risk.
Reviews and manages capacity allocations by line, state and distribution channel. Provides underwriting analysis of prospective books of business prior to assumption/rollover acceptance.
Leads the product and pricing review process through the completion of rating comparisons, data gathering and analysis, as assigned. Files changes as required by each state for rates, forms, rules and guidelines and maintain filing logs and tracking systems. With supervision, responds to Insurance Dept. inquiries and requests for information on filings. Communicates Insurance Dept. objections/ questions and gather input for response from legal, actuarial and other depts. as needed. Supports and provide product guidance in the process of implementing system enhancements and changes. Communicates product and pricing changes to Sales, Customer Service, Claims, and other departments. With guidance, provides information for personal lines property products, provide training and support for operations, marketing and sales teams. Assists in the creation, submission, and review of business requirement documents to ensure accurate implementation of business decisions. Prepares quarterly reports. Performs Other Related Duties As Required. Education And/or Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
5 years of experience in personal lines product development or compliance - particularly in catastrophe prone states.
Demonstrated ability to gather market intelligence and clearly communicate findings. Recent experience in personal property in any or all of the following states FL, TX, SC, AZ, NV, CA, HI, and/or NC strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to assist in the development of new insurance products and/or make modifications to existing products. Experience with the writing and implementation of underwriting guidelines, processes, and procedures preferred.
Experience with the development of product training and underwriting training material for underwriting and customer service staff. Demonstrate technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience in managing personal or commercial property lines. Strong interpersonal skills and team skills; ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers. Must be flexible and able to be adaptable in a changing business environment. Must possess sound, balanced and timely decision making skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Licenses And / Or Certifications At least 4 CPCU exams required, completion of CPCU designation preferred.
